Tangerang, 12-14 July 2023 -Indonesia plans to realize the targetNet Zero Emissionsin 2060. Seeing the large target given by the government, METI (Indonesian Renewable Energy Society) organizes EBKTE ConEx 11thwith the theme ”From Commitment to Action: Safeguarding Energy Transition Towards Indonesia Net Zero Emissions 2060”on 12-14 July 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

This activity is intended to broaden the focus to continue the development of clean and sustainable energy in Indonesia and explore the issue of Energy Transition. This activity is also important in maintaining targets by highlighting the importance of increasing clean and sustainable energy in renewable energy in Indonesia as well as establishing a national baseline to assess Indonesia's progress in planning and achievingNet Zero Emissions 2060.

At the opening of the EBTKE ConEx 2023 event which was held on 12 July 2023, it was opened directly by Mr. Arifin Tasrif as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia. Also attending and delivering the opening ceremony, fromMr. Wiluyo Kusdwiharto as Chairman of the Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (IRES), continued the statementPresident Joko Widodo on environmental issues the development of green energy technology.

Then proceed with the signing of the MoU agreement between National and Multinational green companywith the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, to develop and maintain mission developmentnet zero emissionswent according to plan.

The activity continued with the start of the conference session and the Green Energy Company expo. There are two types of conference sessions, namely planary sessions and breakout rooms. In the breakout Room 3 Special Session 1 the first day raised the theme "REMAINING THE FUTUTRE: CLIMATE STRATEGY FOR THE YOUNG GENERATION". In this session presenting extraordinary speakers among Prof. Eniya as a researcher from BRIN, Mas Aufar Satria as Commissioner of SRE Indonesia, and Mas Jehremi Owen as a content creator who educates about the environment.

In this breakout room, they discussed the importance of the younger generation in achieving the Indonesian net zero emission mission of 2060. "Based on 70% of young people are interested in environmental issues, in fact 70% cannot be seen from everyday life. In my opinion, they are limited in terms of information and not much access to education about the environment. Actually, there is a mission to educate environmental science so that people can understand it simply. My dream is that environmental science can be included in subjects in junior high and high school. outside of the subject matter, environmental science can be included in elementary and secondary schools, for example PKN is included in environmental science, etc. Because young people like them are very important for their role in net zero emissions” said Jehremi Owen.

During this activity there were also booths from the green company partner EBTKE ConEx 11th 2023, such as from PLN, Pertamina, UNDP, Aprobi, Maharaksa Biru Energi tbk, BRIN, HK, MedcoEnergi Power, and so on.

An example of research that makes me interesting is research from PT. APROBI. PT. APROBI is a company engaged in the production of biodiesel and biomethanol in efforts to develop and use biofuels in Indonesia. There are several things that need to be known that biodiesel and biomethanol are not only derived from palm oil CPO, but biodiesel can be produced from waste cooking oil, and several other plants such as jatropha, sugar cane, palm sugar, coconut, and so on.

I am also interested in research from an institution called ADUPI which examines how waste, which incidentally is a waste material that has no value, becomes goods that can be processed into useful goods. ADUPI itself was founded in 2015, which is registered as a Non-Profit Institution that forms the largest plastic recycling chain ecosystem in Indonesia. An example of their research is examining how waste such as cigarette butts can be turned into cement in building construction and flower vases which certainly has stronger strength than other conventional cements.

There was also a booth from SRE Indonesia, a community of students who care

towards new and renewable energy and is committed to advancing new and renewable energy in Indonesia. There is also a booth from HIRE which educates visitors on how to make an ATS curriculum vitae in a professional manner.

The ConEx 2023 EBTKE event officially closed on the second day on July 13 2023 in session named Conference Report and Industrial Cocktail. In the conference report this activity has gone according to plan with details of 112 speakers, 67 topics and subtopics discussed in conference sessions, 6,160 conference participants, 50+ participating companies, 1.6 GW capacity projects to be signed at this event, 7,696 visitors conference, and 2,615 views in its broadcast. Then on July 14 2023, leaving only an exhibition by the green company partners from EBTKE ConEx 11th 2023.
